Halloween, 1978

For its time, Halloween is simply amazing. As it stands now, it still holds up as a brilliant slasher film that actually has somewhat of a story. Michael Myers is just a troubled boy in need of psychiatric help, but when he grows up and breaks out of his cell after his crimes as a youngster, everyone had better run. The music is tone perfect, and the ending feels so right for this movie. It easily sets things up for sequels without feeling forced. There is a lot of down time in the film, mostly during the first half, but Michael makes up for it. 4.5 Stars is an accurate rating.
