Profile of Half Baked

Half Baked can be described as humorous and offbeat. The plot revolves around stoners, drug dealing, and partners. Its comic aspect comes from a comedy of errors and irreverent humor. Half Baked's main genres are comedy, independent, and crime. In approach, it is not serious and realistic. It is set, at least in part, in an urban environment. Half Baked is located in New York. It takes place in the 1980s. Note that it involves drugs/alcohol, nudity, and profanity.

Summary of Half Baked

A trio of bong-loving buddies hatch a pot-laced plan to spring the fourth member of their smokers' circle out of the Big House, where he languishes after accidentally killing a diabetic police horse. The cinematic equivalent of aerosol cheese, featuring a bevy of buzz-friendly cameos (such as Bob Saget, as a rehabbing cokehead, and the Father of Them All, Tommy Chong).

Critics Reviews

The Onion (A.V. Club)
The main problem, however, is Tamra Davis' leaden direction, which prevents Half-Baked from developing comic momentum. There are a few scattered laughs.
Variety
A couple of hash brownies short of a satisfying cinematic picnic, with far too few comic highs during the bigscreen reefer party.
