The best Gangster film of all time
When a man was born to be a gangster he rises in the Italian mob between the 1960s to the 1980s. A film about various characters lives, money, greed, sex and downfall.
Martin Scorsese's bold direction with a flawless script makes this to be an excellent film. It is fast paced and has memorable dialogue all the way through, cliched like all mafia movies - but it rises above them all with it's performances and tone. Near Perfect movie, must see.

Something must be wrong with me, because I wasn't that into 'Goodfellas'. Sure, it's well shot, well acted, well everything. But hey--I didn't care about Liotta's character. I wasn't rooting for him. I wasn't rooting against him. I just didn't care....

Something must be wrong with me, because I wasn't that into 'Goodfellas'. Sure, it's well shot, well acted, well everything. But hey--I didn't care about Liotta's character. I wasn't rooting for him. I wasn't rooting against him. I just didn't care. And if that's part of the theme of the film--moral ambivalence--I can cede it some philosophical points, but captivating cinema it is not. When folks drool over this film, they are almost certainly drooling over the form of it's creation, and not it's success on a cinematic scale. We follow Liotta's character from childhood all the way to his Big Life Changing Event, all without a single reason to feel one way or the other about the entire affair.

A masterpiece gangster film, captivating from the very beginning, this is the rise and fall theme at its best. And the amazing one-shot scene to the wonderful sounds of Eric Clapton's Leila - outstanding! Joe Pesci gives an amazing performance, De Niro is great as usual, and I think it's the only film where I could actually stand Ray Liotta...
