Gattaca, 1997

Ten years from the time this movie was made, we can now send a cheek swab to a website and have our entire genome sequenced. Fetuses can be screened for genetic diseases and in some countries for traits like eye and hair color. The neo-Victorian future world described in this movie is fast becoming the present. That said, this movie does suffer from a few shortcomings. If you're looking for something fast paced you will be disappointed. This is not a sci-fi action movie and it never tries to be. Unfortunately it does try to be a love story and it turns a bit cheesy. In the end the story of a struggle against society it well worth watching, though It takes a bit of nerd to sit through (I had no problem).
