I actually wasn't too thrilled with the movie, but daniel day lewis's performance is awesome. He steals every scene. This movie probably should've been called bill the butcher!

Gritty, compelling tale of the Five Points neighborhood, in the midst of the Civil War, Tammany Hall, and heavy Irish immigration. A remarkably compelling story, superbly told.
