Summary of Gaav
This Iranian drama from acclaimed director Dariush Mehrjui follows the trials and tribulations of a farmer in a small village. When he leaves his farm for a brief period his beloved cow suddenly dies, causing consternation amongst the locals, and a decision is made to tell the grief stricken farmer that his cow has simply wandered off. The subsequent events involve plenty of musings on life, with the film evolving into a deep tract on identity and the self.
