I don't agree with the rather lukewarm critiques this movie had, I think it deserved better.
The movie points rightfully to the enormous injustices that happened after the stock-market bubble burst, leaving thousands of people bankrupted at the expense of a few corrupted CEOs. But it does so with a lot of humor, much of which consisting of slapstick that left me almost rolling on the floor. Leoni is quite funny as well, and Alec Baldwin plays the corrupted CEO to perfection. The movie surely has its drawbacks, the major being that the movie should have been shot 4 years earlier, and some minor shortfalls such as a somewhat derogatory attitude towards honest workers in the lower echelons and a message that violent crimes might be justified in dire times. Does that mean that the millions of poor Americans should start bankrobbing? Carrey and Leoni start robbing banks to maintain their lavish lifestyle, and the millions of poor in the US simply wish to survive...

Timing is most important in Comedy and both Tea Leoni and Jim Carrey have no sense of it anymore. Its a sham of a movie. See it on TBS.

I had fun
Judd Apatow wrote it so it has to be funny. Jim Carrey is funny here as well and Alec Baldwin is becoming quite a big name in comedy. This remake is hilarious and clever, i highly recommend it.
