I was really excited to see this movie because I thought that it could be an interesting commentary on a word that is both uncomfortable and oddly soothing for a lot of people. Instead I was disappointed to find that the film relied heavily upon interviews with people who are about as knowledgeable about the word as the average audience member would be, the only difference being that these people were porn stars, singers, and other celebrities.
If you're looking for a movie where you can hear the word f-word said over 800 times, oftentimes by people who are trying to be controversial (difficult, considering they're in a documentary about the word), I would suggest watching this. If you're looking for an intelligent discussion discussing the origin, uses and meaning of the word and its implications today, you will, unfortunately, only be rewarded with a rather pathetic attempt at such a discussion needlessly supplemented with needless vulgarity (and honestly, I can't believe I'm saying this, considering what the documentary was about, but it WAS excessive.)

My real comment on this film is to say it was completely effective except that I was disappointed by the deceptive presentation of numbers. Saying that there were so many complaints in a particular year, then comparing that number to the sum total of all complaints ten or 15 years later is the ultimate in comparing apples to oranges. Without such a shameful presentation (they do it twice) this would easily be a 4-star film on my list. As it is, it just barely made 3. The abuse of presentation makes one think "What the F**K were they thinking?!"

This movie is not about anything. Do not expect an interesting look at the history of a commonly used word. Expect badly animated overly long cartoon segments and pointless interviews.

This ends up being mildly entertaining but ultimately useless. The 'history' of the F-word is barely explored, and any social commentary of any value is supplied by celebrities the like of George Carlin and Whoopi Goldberg; although this is fine for what it is, it lacks the academic exploration I was hoping for. At the end, you come out no more knowledgable of the F-word than you were when you went it.
