Very, very spooky. A little stupid. Plenty gory. Don't watch while eating dinner. Worth it for Johnny Depp fans, Hughes Brothers fans, etc.

Take all of the theories about Jack the Ripper. Put them all together, but add a solution to the case (for entertainment's sake). Base the movie on Alan Moore's graphic novel. Add amazing actor Johnny Deep. Stir well. End it with a Marilyn Manson...

I can't understand why critics loved this movie so much. It wasn't that great in my opinion.
The theory of Jack the Ripper is mind blowing, and the detail the Hugh's Brothers put into making this movie is superb.

I can't understand why critics loved this movie so much. It wasn't that great in my opinion.
The theory of Jack the Ripper is mind blowing, and the detail the Hugh's Brothers put into making this movie is superb.
The overall feel of the movie is good but it just didn't seem to take off. Just cause you show a horrible murder, and have an interesting plot doesn't mean you can't make the characters entertaining.
My opinion is that Heather Graham wasn't right for the part she played. Johnny Depp didn't seem to into his role, and the movie had me looking at my watch more then once.
There are some entertaining points in the movie though, and I highly enjoyed them but I feel they are to far apart to go out and full heartily recommended this movie.
