Fred Claus, 2007

Meh. It's okay, but definitely not a laugh out loud comedy that's for sure. Vaughn does his patented cynical fast talking every man character like every other movie he's in and this time it wears thin. He's so negative initially that he's not funny, he's just irritating and that's not good for a comedy. Giamatti is the only interesting character and his role is rather slim. Weisz and Banks are in throwaway roles unfortunately but they play their parts well. Overall, it's just too lacking in the laughter factor and spends too much grinding the negative factor preparing for his eventual flip to the good holiday cheer side.
