Through and through this movie is painfully average. If you have seen either of the previous two movies you are familiar with the declining excitement you feel when wondering who will die next.
The Story follows Wendy who, like the two before her has a vision and sees her friends' imminent deaths. The previous feeling of impending doom has (in presumably some sort of creative decision making process) been replaced with an experience I liken to going to Disneyland with a severe case of hemorrhoids; There is plenty of exciting stuff to see, but the only thing you're really looking forward to is the experience ending. Death has apparently had a lobotomy this go 'round and no longer relies on things like "intuition" or "dramatic irony" to drive the storyline, but instead shows the ultimate demise of his victims by way of a digital photos taken just before the accident. Apparently death has consumed a hearty amount of paint chips and is now moonlighting at the local drugstore as a photo lab tech.
If you are, in fact a resident of earth and have even a passing knowledge of how the world works, you will laugh at the ridiculous manners in which these teens shuffle off this mortal coil.
If you really need a way to fill 93 minutes, I'd suggest an endoscopy and a pint of Chunky Monkey, it'll still be annoying, but at least you get ice cream.

The only reason I saw Final Destination 3 in the theater was because I got a free pass. One word to describe this movie, repetitive. If you've seen the first two movies in this series, then don't bother seeing this one. The first in the series was good, as it had some original ideas. There aren't any left for this movie. Even the death scenes seemed repetitive. As I was sitting in the theater, I could predict what was going to happen next, "We've managed to save some person from dying in some absurd situation, that means the next person on the list will now die by continuation of the same absurd situation". The movie seemed like an excuse to see people killed, usually by a blunt force to the head.

It's predictable, the deaths are unbelievably staged - to the point of being stunts rather than realistic ways of dying, but somehow, it's not completely a waste. At the start of this film, you'll quickly want everyone to die, as the cast of characters at first appears to all be mean-spirited jerks. As it progresses, you do begin to grow attached to certain characters, and want the best for them - mostly due to the talented actors who rightfully live the longest. I know it is a gimmicky movie, but it is still pretty fun to watch, and at least worth one rental for horror fans.
