Fifty Dead Men Walking, 2008

Based on real events, "50 DEAD MEN WALKING" is a gripping, suspenseful film about a young man caught up in the deadly factions during the "troubles" in Ireland. It's a world of double agents, brutal politics, and end-justifies-the-means violence. We follow good actors negotiating divided loyalties and dancing on the razor's moral edge. I have to add that the dialog, in heavily accented Irish accents, was hard to understand -- for some reason, the only subtitles on the DVD are in Spanish! -- and I probably missed more than half the words. The film was intelligible nonetheless.
