Summary of Exile Express
Grand National Pictures went out with a bang with this blend of suspense and romantic comedy, the last film they made. Beautiful, Ukranian-born actress Anna Sten--who was wife to the film's producer, Eugene Frenke--stars as Nadine Nikolas, a young European with hopes of becoming an American citizen. Her aspirations appear to be dashed when she becomes the chief suspect in a murder, but as she prepares to be deported, reporter Steve Reynolds (Alan Marshall) investigates his hunch that a group of international spies was really behind the murder. Love blooms as Steve gets closer to the dangerous truth, and Sten delivers the film's highlight by dancing an infectious, adorable jitterbug.
