Elizabeth: The Golden Age, 2007

CONTAINS SPOILERS.. Cate Blanchett stars as Elizabeth I, once again. I welcomed this movie because Cate's interpretation of Elizabeth is one of the best that I have seen. In this movie we see the Spanish weaving a web of deception that ends with Elizabeth issuing an order to execute Mary Queen of Scots. Now this causes the Spanish to declare war on England. Spain sends an Armada against England to revenge the death of Mary. The Armada is dashed by storms and sunk in the English Channel. Cate Blanchett has the correct heroic countenance to portray such a great leader. And to think Henry VIII was worried, he thought England could not be Governed by a woman. Ha. ("I am My Fathers' Daughter, I am Not Afraid Of Anything" - Elizabeth I) This was a wonderful movie. A good history lesson. The highest rating possible.
