A very good Action Movie. Excellent, Hot, Jennifer Garner. One of the better Comic Book/Graphic Novels films. I loved it and recommend it. 5 STARS.

Elektra is a good example of mediocrity. It's also a good example of how not to create a spin-off franchise. Finally, it's proof that a spin-off of a bad movie is also a bad movie. Elektra really is a cool character. She's hot, wears tight red costumes, and kills people with a frightening efficiency. What else can a guy ask for?
But even the best character can hold up a movie all by herself. The movie still needs a decent story, script, plot, direction, visuals, acting, supporting cast... I can go on, but I won't. I think you get the point. I wanted to like Elektra. Heck, I was ready to love Elektra, if the film would've allowed it.
The supporting cast is horrible, rendering Garner's decent portrayal of the title character worthless. The cast of villains are weak at best. I don't know if these bad guys are straight from the pages of the Elektra comics, but they may be. Regardless, I felt they were some of the least interesting villains in movie history. Part of this may be the lack of character development, but either way the blame here falls on the writers. The villains weren't the only characters desperately in need of some development. The rest of the cast could've used a little back story, too. Even Elektra's story was weak. For whatever reason, the writers chose not to make any references to Daredevil whatsoever. If I hadn't remembered the Daredevil backstory, I'd be even more confused.
I don't want to focus entirely on the negatives. The fight scenes, while a little to few and far between for my tastes, were pretty decent. Unfortunately, one of the finale scenes didn't work for me. The shots you see in the trailers of Elektra in a room full of white sheets looked like they had potential, but the filmmakers manged to screw that up, too.
