Summary of Demolition Man

With innocent victims caught in the crossfire in Los Angeles' intensifying war on crime, both cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and violent thug Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) are sentenced to a state of frozen incarceration known as "CryoPrison." When Spartan is finally thawed 36 years later, it's 2032, and Los Angeles is now a pacifist utopia called San Angeles. But with Phoenix again on the loose, Spartan must team up with future cop Lenina (Sandra Bullock) to apprehend the killer.

Critics Reviews

Time
Ultimately the script's often sharp social satire is drowned out by the noise and confusion.
TV Guide
The pleasant surprise about Demolition Man is that both the script, and Stallone, are funny; the film blends big-budget action and tongue-in-cheek humor in the way that "last action hero" tried, and failed, to do.

Users Reviews

A funny, action packed sci-fi film with terrific acting. Sandra Bullock, Wesley Snipes, Stallone and Denis Leary all do excellent jobs. Lot's of stuff blow's up too.
I think I've watched it a hundred times (:
well, it's definitely not the most brilliant piece of work the world has ever seen, but not many "bad guy" characters were as enjoyable to me as the one played by Wesley Snipes. other than that there's extremely cruel action and fun all around....
