This is a silly movie. For one, the acting is silly. Secondly, a man who sets out to avenge his wife's death never actually gets to, rather he goes on a killing spree in the name of justice? He's not really even a vigilante, just some guy with a gun...

This is a silly movie. For one, the acting is silly. Secondly, a man who sets out to avenge his wife's death never actually gets to, rather he goes on a killing spree in the name of justice? He's not really even a vigilante, just some guy with a gun who happens to live in a very bad part of town (apparently). I enjoyed this movie, but think there are a lot better ones out there with the same kind of message and executed better. No, not The Brave One.

the father of all vigilante movies
Dexter, The Brave One, The Boondock Saints and many more movies were inspired by Charles Bronson's Death Wish. Resembling Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry series, Bronson’s first Death Wish was the best of the series. The others are not that good (the 4th and the 5th are actually embarrassing). Bronson is not as diverse and talented an actor as, say, Dustin Hoffman, but he delivers an unforgettable performance in movies like this one.
