Bad even for a movie where it's not about the story but the mood
Dear John is supposed to be one of those movies where you know what you are getting yourself into, with all the cheese and kitsch and exactly that is its purpose: to serenade. But this movie really no message of a final sentiment to leave you with, it touches upon so many topics without fully delivering and the direction it is headed changes all the time. This is not what people want to see in a lovestory, not even a sad one. Very dissapointing.

Horrible.
Even accounting for it being a chick flick, all I could do was stare at the DVD player's time counter and endure the agony as my GF watched the movie.
At one point I said "This is gotta have something happen soon, my God." Than...

Horrible.
Even accounting for it being a chick flick, all I could do was stare at the DVD player's time counter and endure the agony as my GF watched the movie.
At one point I said "This is gotta have something happen soon, my God." Than the credits rolled, amen.
It takes forever to establish a thread of a badly acted weak story line.

being a big fan of nicolas sparks, i really enjoyed this movie. i went to go see it with my wife on my birthday. it was well worth it. while it is nothing ground breaking or earth shattering, it is still a good one to watch. like all the other...

another good spark
being a big fan of nicolas sparks, i really enjoyed this movie. i went to go see it with my wife on my birthday. it was well worth it. while it is nothing ground breaking or earth shattering, it is still a good one to watch. like all the other nicolas sparks movies, this one pretty much follows the same format. if you've like his other ones, you should definately like this one. turn the lights down, get some hot chocolate and popcorn and sit down with your wife or girlfriend and just enjoy this for what it is. a simple nicolas sparks lovestory.
