Robert Pastorelli steps into Robbie Coltrane's formidable shoes in this American remake of the acclaimed British television series Cracker. Pastorelli turns in a nuanced performance as Gerry "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a troubled psychologist who helps the Los Angeles police department solve difficult cases while struggling with his own inner demons, which include drinking, gambling, extramarital affairs, and a tense relationship with his wife (Carolyn McCormick) and son (Josh Hartnett). An innovative but disturbing take on the standard police-detective genre, the Americanized Cracker survived for only 16 one-hour episodes before it was cancelled.
