10/10Must See
Charlie Kaufman wrote this movie and "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation." If you liked/loved those two movies, you won't be disappointed in this one. I rank "Being John Malkovich" as a masterpiece, this movie a distant second, and "Adaptation" as third. Chuck Barris's life would be fascinating with or without the strange CIA subplot, but then, if it weren't for the strange CIA subplot, Mr. Kaufman probably wouldn't have been attracted to the story, so let's count our blessings. Was Chuck Barris a CIA assassin? Or is he simply a man who knows how to entertain? Does he believe the story he's telling you? Does he expect you to believe it? Which career, assassin or game show producer, has more redeeming social value? Fun things to ponder while you watch this movie.

Sam Rockwell's performance is truly dazzeling. His portrayal of the legendary Chuck Barris makes one believe he's chenneling the man somehow. I only wish Sam would find similar meaty roles to further explore his talents. Oh and of course, overall,...
