Feel good failure
This should have been a straight feel good kinda movie. Even Andy Garcia is OK. But it is rather predictable and well...boring. You can easily sit through it all but then again, why bother? This "all families are dysfunctional in their own little ways" type of film really doesn't do it for me. No, I don't know many families that are like this one and that doesn't make me want to watch this one as it plays out a rather unrealistic resolution to all their problems.

Well Surprised!
I have been an Andy Garcia fan ever since 'When a Man Loves a Woman'.
I usually make it a point to see his films but it took me about two years to get round to this little gem.
He plays Vince Rizo, a native of Brooklyn whose day job as a Correctional Officer is just a distraction from acting, which is his real passion, one that he keeps hidden from his wife and the rest of his family. His daughter is pretending to be at college whilst his teenage son spends his time on the internet admiring big women. All these secrets are nothing compared to the one Vince finally finds himself unable to avoid and one that will potentially change the lives of all his loved ones for good.
Julianna Margulies from ER fame portrays the married-and-insecure wife role with gusto and quite convincingly I might add.
I thought that the characters were captivating and the story of family secrets that eventually leap out of the closet to bite everyone in the ass is one most of us can relate to.
A very touching, funny and emotional journey into the depths of a family struggling to make it work.
A true must see for all.

Better than expected
This looked like one of those, "hey! its a family! you got one! you should watch this. They have problems just like your family! You should connect with them!" movies and I was a bit reluctant to watch it. I started and I saw I was wrong. All the family members have their little and big secrets. They all know everybody's hiding secrets, but assume the worst when it isn't always that bad. Mass chaos ensues. Comedy, drama, and just an overall great movie

This movie got it right!
An excellent comedy, couldn’t stop laughing… The story is great, the directing is great, and am I the only one who missed Julianna Margulies? I really liked this one, it was more than I expected.
