I almost always watch a movie in it's entiretly before judging it, but I could not sit through this one. I don't understand what the hype was about.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! From begining to end there wasn't a bad scene, a bad song, a bad dance move. Far superior to the original stage version because they could do so much more!

A "must see" for anyone who likes musicals. Far superior to the run-of-the-mill musical theater crap being produced today.

Many of the performances were good, but many more were stereotypical NY elitist silliness. This movie has nothing on Dreamgirls, 1776, Hairspray, The Music Man, or High School Musical 1. I like musicals. I didn't like Chicago.

Great rendition
Great version of the play, this movie has a fantastic storyline, costumes and music. Renee Zelleweger shines like never before.

sorry. dont like it. maybe musicals are not exactly my thing, but when I compare it to Bob Fosse original musicals this movie is a pale shadow. the plot is nice: blind ambition, celebrity culture and all that, but the execution is really mediocre.

Roxy heart!
what a great modern musical! this has everything we would expect from a classic musical: catchy songs, great costumes and dances... plus a more modern attitude that results in a darker atmosphere and more cynical and witty plot. great fun for all...
