Summary of Cheers for Miss Bishop
Ella Bishop (Martha Scott), a young Midwestern woman, is determined to teach college. While she encounters numerous difficulties along the way, Ella does eventually become a teacher -- though her academic career proves far more stable than her love life. As the film follows Ella over the years, she is consistently given support by Sam Peters (William Gargan), the local grocer and a close friend. Will Ella and Sam's relationship blossom into romance?
