Unrealistic video on screen of phone
This movie got off to a poor start without building up the characters, but for a suspense thriller it was great. One thing I will say, as an owner of the 6600, is that this is a false ad for that phone. The quality of video on the phone in this movie is about ten times better than the actual video quality of the 6600. THe story in this movie is intriguing and the suspense is intense and non-stop.

Cellular was a short but intense film. Just minutes into the movie, Kim Basinger gets kidnapped. A few minutes later, Chris Evans's character gets sucked into the ordeal. The plot was flimsy and absurd at best, but it was also thoroughly engrossing. From the moment Evans's cell phone rings, the action was non-stop. But for everything that worked in Cellular, there was something that didn't work. Much of the comedy seemed out of place. The story took place in a world that wanted to seem realistic, but just wasn't. While the action was fast and furious, there was something wrong with the pacing. I can't quite put a finger on what was wrong, but I kept thinking that the movie should almost be over, even though it wasn't. Cellular felt like a two hour movie, but it only lasted 94 minutes.
The DVD looked and sounded very good. The picture quality was clean and sharp. Cellular is a bright movie, mostly taking place in Californian sunshine, and the video transfer does a good job bringing the colors to life. The sound mix is very good, but not spectacular. Everything came together nicely. The surround channels were used well, especially in the attic scenes. The dialog was always clear, even during the driving scenes where it could easily have been drowned out by everything else going on. Overall, I was very impressed with the DVD.
For all its flaws, Cellular is a good movie. Although it felt longer than it was, I was thoroughly entertained for the entire running time. I would highly recommend Cellular as a rental, but not a purchase. As much as I enjoyed the film, I can't see it holding much replay value for anyone except its biggest fans.

Nice, but...
it just another thriller with a predictable ending. other than the ending thing it's really not a bad film, but the plot story has been worn to death, so I don't think anyone will get too excited.

suspenseful and exciting
A good action film. a guy who answer his phon and find himself speaking to a woman who claim to be an hostage and that the kidnappers are after her husband and child. in first he dosen't believe her but then he hears something and try to rescue her....

A good action film. a guy who answer his phon and find himself speaking to a woman who claim to be an hostage and that the kidnappers are after her husband and child. in first he dosen't believe her but then he hears something and try to rescue her. this anti hero is in race against the time becouse his battarie is about to die and then his connection to this woman will die too... an exciting movie that I really enjoy to watch.
