Carrington is a beautiful story about an "impossible love affair" between a British Bloomsbury writer and Dora Carrington, a promising painter. It's the most unconventional story I have encountered in a film in quite some time. I don't recommend it to those who have difficulties with unconventional relationships. The casting is exceptional. Emma Thompson and Jonathan Pryce (Best Actor Award, Cannes) are here at their best performances. Carrington was also awarded with "Prix Special du Jury" at Cannes, 1995. Those who love Schubert's music will also be pleased to see this film, because Hampton makes here large use of the Adagio from Schubert's Quintet in C Major. I found this film to be extremely enjoyable, and very sexy in parts, because Carrington could be quite lusty at times. 5 STAR Ratting for the Loves of Carrington, Emma Thompson, A National Treasure.
