A fun must see movie. You like!
That said I found Sacha's character Borat gets a little old towards the end of the movie. I enjoy his Da Ali G Show more mainly because the skits are shorter & intermixed with his other, equally entertaining, characters.
If Sacha ever makes a feature length Da Ali G movie I'll likely watch that too but I fear it'd also suffer the same problem as this one. It can get old fast.

This movie definentaly deserves the 5 stars because it is hilarious. This is another movie that is just funny because of the things he says and the people are totally oblivious to what is even going on, i'm really surprised that they didnt really get in trouble for any of the stuff they did. This is just one of those movies where quotes from the movie just get stuck in your head. If you haven't seen it yet what is your deal it's niiiiicccceee.

Are you kidding me? The critics love this movie? They are idiots. Their rave reviews are probably more a result of their elitist views that the average American is racist and ignorant/intolerant of other cultures rather than their knowledge of film-making. However, with the exception of two scenes (the rodeo guy and the drunk frat boys) this film shows nothing of the sort. It shows Americans being very nice, polite and trying to be helpful (except for the New Yorkers who just don't want to be bothered). Only when the stunts are taken too far do a few of the people who were victims of the prank start to get upset (what group of people *aren't* going to be offended when one of their guests takes it upon himself to invite a trashy prostitute to their dinner party?). Ironically, the film-makers actually unwittingly show their own true intolerance by making fun of a pentacostal church congregation. But this is typical of ultra liberal elitists to preach about tolerance but then practice it only selectively - ie. to the people they deem worthy of their tolerance. The only reason I gave this film two stars instead of one is that there were a few genuinely funny moments, but overall, this movie is crap. Any critic who loved this film is an idiot.

Only reason I did not give it four stars was due to the fact that after repeated viewings the movie's laugh factor might go down. I have to say that I was a fan of Da Ali G show on HBO on thought this movie might fall flat. Well I have tosay that I laughed more in this film than any comedy currently out there. Some might find it more shocking than funny but I found it to be both. If you know what to expect than see this film, Sacha Baron Cohen is insane/comic genius in my humble opinon. If you don't like toilet humor or racial/sexist humor then just avoid this film but it's all in good fun watching Borat poking fun at us all. This lived up to all the hype that it recieved.

What one should think about when watching this film (in between your belly laughs) is what Sacha Baron Cohen is trying to say with his humor. Remember: THE CHARACTER OF BORAT IS AN IDIOT. The things he says, does and thinks are the actions and thoughts OF AN IDIOT. Once you are watching the film with this in mind, Cohen's social criticism and political insights come through loud, clear, and intelligent.

"Borat" was so praised when it came out that I had a feeling it wouldn't live up to the hype when it finally arrived on DVD. Wrong! It may be high-concept, but it's full of belly laughs and is very well done.
