Working my way through the AFI top 100 list, I reached Bonnie and Clyde at number 27. What a great movie! Everyone knows the Bonnie and Clyde story, partners in crime and all that jazz... But by the end of this movie, I was pulling for the "bad guys." I wanted to see them both drive off into the sunset and live happily ever after... But if I say anymore, I might ruin the film for someone who hasn't seen it. This was my favorite Warren Beatty role, and Faye Dunaway is hot! It was great seeing Gene Hackman so young. If you haven't seen this one yet, you need to. Really. Now.
I've heard rumors about a special edition of Bonnie and Clyde hitting shelves this year. If that's true, I'll be the first in line. Until then, I'll have to settle for the current disc. The audio was presented in it's original mono state, and I was quite pleased. Obviously, it could use some cleaning up, but the dialogue and the gunfire sounded much better than I had expected. The video didn't fare nearly as well. There was a lot of dirt on the print, the colors were flat, and the detail levels were much less than what I'd like to see. I really hope Bonnie and Clyde gets the treatment it deserves on a nice two disc special edition sometime soon.

i first saw this movie when i was about 10. i know, it's probably not the best age to see such a movie. but i was completly stuck to the screen - it was fascinating. obviously i did not know the end, and when it came it really struck me. many years...

what a great movie.
i first saw this movie when i was about 10. i know, it's probably not the best age to see such a movie. but i was completly stuck to the screen - it was fascinating. obviously i did not know the end, and when it came it really struck me. many years later i saw that movie again and i was not surprised to find out it still got me glued to the screen. it's just so captivasting. faye dunaway is gorgeos here, and warren beatty is great as well. really recommended, although not at age 10... :-)
