Summary of Blindness

Sent to a government asylum along with her now-blind husband (Mark Ruffalo), she sees conditions deteriorate until civilization itself is in jeopardy, prompting her break-out of the asylum to lead a small group to freedom.

Fails to live up to its source
Blindness is based on the 1995 novel by Nobel winning Portuguese author José Saramago. Unlike the novel, however, this film is unable to capture the psychological explorations that flow so naturally from its premise. The cinematography and visuals...
