Blade II, 2002

Blade 2 (2002) A new type of vampire has risen. The Reaper. A vampire consumed with an insatiable thirst for blood that they also feed on vampires, all the victims become Reapers after. Now their raging expanding population threatens the existence of vampires, and if left unstopped they will overtake the world. Blade, Whistler, and a tech guy Scud are recruited by the Shadow Council. The council asks for Blade’s help in destroying the mutual threat. The alliance is uneasy and soon dissolves while in the midst of the growing threat. (Directed by Guillermo del Toro)

Weaker than the already-weak original, 'Blade 2' is a snooze-fest that attempts to pack itself with action, only to present one identical scene after another, where the characters doing the wholly unconvincing fighting are people we do not give a crap about. Word to filmmakers: if you want a succesful action trilogy, I have to worry about whether the heroes live or die. Neat vampire death are only cool in a context vaccuum when playing video games.
