Banlieue 13 - Ultimatum, 2009

I am usually not the one who needs a great story behind great action (hell, I love Commando), but here I couldn't help but laugh about the poor and simple story, that, of all things, is told in a really annoying way. There really is not much to going on, but the director seems to think the audience is too stupid to remember what was going on five minutes before, so everytime there is a "twist" you have to watch through dozens of flashbacks to remind of what, in the end, is nothing more than the simplicity of the plot. The lines are involuntarily funny, the great parkour action of the first movie is toned down. What remains are some nice fights, some nice action scenes, some nice camera work, but all in all I just couldn't help to feel badly entertained although I really wanted to like the movie.
