APOCALYPSE NOW: I have always loved watching movies starring MARLON BRANDO, This is one of my favorite movies and I highly recommend it. MARLON always give 110%, and his acting is always very convincing and spot on. I give this movie 5*****STARS.

The most boring film I've ever seen
Oh my god,what a waste of my time!Never in my days of watching movies have I been so infuriated by a film. For starters, the movie just doesn't make any sense. There is no logical transition from scene to scene. As I was watching this movie, I found myself actually TRYING to convince myself that it was good, that at some point during this overdone, self-righteous piece of poo, that some semblance of a theme or motif would come into play. No: The movie continues to lead you down the linear path of the story.....DONT WATCH THIS PIECE OF SHIT.

In turns airy and dark (symbolic and literal), this film is a dark dream; it can say lots of things (it can say what you want it to) and it can show you yourself, your heart, your father's heart. It's about Vietnam, but it doesn't have to be about...

In turns airy and dark (symbolic and literal), this film is a dark dream; it can say lots of things (it can say what you want it to) and it can show you yourself, your heart, your father's heart. It's about Vietnam, but it doesn't have to be about Vietnam. Brando and Douglas are brilliant, but they didn't have to be: the film would have succeeded without them. You might not like this film (and it might not like you), but after you've seen it, you will have been used for it's purpose: to transcend.

I found Apocalypse Now to be one of those journey to hell movies. If you look at it in a context of book you would similar themes to Dante's "Inferno." With such things as Lust, Sloth, and Eveny then you can see its more about a man journey through...

I found Apocalypse Now to be one of those journey to hell movies. If you look at it in a context of book you would similar themes to Dante's "Inferno." With such things as Lust, Sloth, and Eveny then you can see its more about a man journey through his tortured sole. Martian Sheen played an excellent performance when playing the anti-hero, he was neither good or bad when it came to his mission into killing Marolen Brandou. All in all an excellent movie to watch.

Apocalypse Now is incredible
For the dummies who don't know, Apocalypse Now is based on Conrad's "Heart of Darkness." The main idea behind it is how outside our well ordered society, the white man (boo) goes completely insane and becomes a maniacal murderer of ethnic proportions. Like Belgium in the Congo, he won't hesitate to murder millions in order to secure a few dollars worth of natural resources.
This film is a modern portrayal of that, and is completely incredible.

a true masterpiece
Citizen Kane, A Touch of Evil, The Dark Knight and Apocalypse Now: all great movies, and all have something in common: they all deal with the idea of the noble man, the best among humans, a man destined for greatness... but something goes wrong along the way. all these movies take inspiration from Aristottle's definition of the tragic hero and on Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness. Apocalypse is a perfect movie - the music is stirring, the acting by Marlon Brando is out of this world, the work by the famous cinematographer Storaro is considered to be some of the best ever and he won an Oscar for it, and the direction by the great Coppola is also very visible. An atmospheric journey into the chaos of war and the chaos of the soul.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning
a terrific masterpiece, but you have to take into consideration that it's a long and a bit attritional thing to watch. anyway, as one of the finest anti-war stories you can find, it goes right into your must-see list.
