Summary of Ani DiFranco - Trust
With a fiercely strong DIY ethic, Ani DiFranco rose to fame from humble folky beginnings in Buffalo, NY, and quickly crossed over to full mainstream acceptance. Taking an uncompromising stance in her approach to music, Ani releases albums on her own record label, and tours the globe on a regular basis. This fiercely independent approach has won over a huge audience of fans, many of whom delight in connecting to an artist who eschews the corporate publicity machine, and instead relates to her audience on a highly personal level. TRUST presents footage from two concerts, shot in May 2004, at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. Congressman Dennis Kucinich makes an appearance, and the film offers a wonderful selection of songs spanning DiFranco's entire career.
