I've always enjoyed Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live and he was absolutely hilarious (and raunchy) in Old School, so I was expecting more of the same, and for the most part I was not disappointed.

I've always enjoyed Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live and he was absolutely hilarious (and raunchy) in Old School, so I was expecting more of the same, and for the most part I was not disappointed.
I doubt this is a film that will appeal to the public at large like Spiderman 2 does, but rather a film for those that appreciate the hilarious and alot of times stupid form of comedy that Will Ferrell excels in. Anchorman is more of the same. The chemistry between Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate is great. If this was a serious romantic movie I doubt they could pull if off, but for laugh value, they're great.
I would not recommend taking your grandmother to see this movie, as is typical with Will Ferrell, much of the humor is a bit on the perverse side with many innuendos and alot of blatent sexual humor. There is no nudity, no violence and other then sexual references, not alot of language.
I found this movie extremely enjoyable and a must-see for any Will Ferrell fan. Just remember to go into the theater knowing that this movie is not meant to be serious and never will be serious at any point.

I loved this movie, Will Ferrell always makes me laugh, I happen to fancy stupid comedies, and I hate dry comedies that make sense, I like "Gut Busting" when I watch a comedy, I want a comedy that is stupid and silly and this fits the mold, and I don't like a comedy to be serious,that to me is a drama! And GO AHEAD! tell me I have no taste, but for your information I do have taste, I just happen to like dumb and senseless comedies! So if I have to put up with other peoples opinions I guess you'll have to put up with mine! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

I made the mistake of watching Anchorman last night. I only wish I could get that hour and a half of my life back, and I don't think I'm even going to bother putting up the movie poster on this one. Overall, I really didn't like the movie, and I'm not trying to be a film snob or anything. Even as far as typical comedies go, this just didn't do it for me. There were parts that were just stupid and didn't make any sense. But, there were funny parts - especially by the mentally deficient weatherman played by Steve Carell. Will Ferrell had some good lines as well, and I really liked his dog, Baxter.

By no means should you go into Anchorman expecting a brilliant plot. This movie is simply a quotable comedy in the vein of Borat. There are so many lines in this movie that are downright absurd, and that's what makes them quote-worthy. It's all about Will Ferrell here, so if you like him in any of his other work, you'll definitely like what he does here. His co-anchors in the film, all of them, play off of his humor well and make the movie work for the most part. Again, not an award-winner, just a very funny movie about one ridiculous news anchor.

this is the movie that made Will Ferrell a legend. he was good in Old School and Zoolander but in this movie he really made a name for himself as one of the funniest men in Hollywood - or in the world if you like. the movie also has Steve Carell, who is hilarious as the not so bright weather man. in very short appearences you can see Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins. this is no doubt a cult movie with catch phrases like "milk was a bad choice." the chemistry between Christina Applegate and Will Ferrell is great and she is also at her comic best. this movie isn't for everyone but if you are a Ferrell or Carell fan this is a must-see.
