Great take on the awesome comic. I love how they incorporated the actual people into the movie and the transition from Harvey Pekar to Paul Giamatti is flawless.

Harvey Pekar brought to life his motto "Ordinary life is pretty complicated stuff" in an autobiographical series of comics. The movie, named after the series, creates an interesting aesthetic mix of cinema and comics, revolving around the writer's everyday life. BTW, the movie "Crumb," based on Robert Crumb's biography (one of the main illustrators of American Splendor), is also strongly recommended.
