Upon seeing the studio's final cut of the film, director Tony Kaye wanted his name removed from the credits, and I don¿t blame him. The subtlety of Norton's performance bravely depicts the inclination intelligent people posses -- when they think up smart excuses for things they're a part of for not-so-smart reasons. This bold touch makes the fact that the film reduces racism to an adolescent coping mechanism, all the more bothersome. Racism, like Religion, is a completely irrational entity, that doesn't mean its undeniable power should be undermined. Despite this, X does simply that, it suggests that all a racist needs is a little bit of love and understanding, and maybe just a hint of prison-rape to help change his ways. The film fancies itself as an unflinching look at modern-day race relations; what it is instead, is an after-school special with some rape and a curbstomping sprinkled in for effect. It¿s as if it¿s telling us, "You see kids. If you choose to be a racist, you¿re gonna get raped."

this is a great movie about the issues of rascism in america. I saw it once, a year or 2 ago, and immediatly went out to buy it. it IS a must own movie. Ed norton is outstanding. personally, this is my favorite movie of all time.

This film should be required viewing for high school seniors. It is intense, charged, and unfortunately very true to life.
Ed norton is awesome. If ever has a performance greater than this then ...well I would be speechless.

While i was initially turned off on seeing this movie i cant say i regret it. Everything from the script to the acting was tremendous! Edward Nortons performance goes above and beyond Fight Club and for once i can watch Edward Furlong in a movie...

this is one of the few movies that made me feel like I had to go and relax afterwords. Edward Norton in one of his best on-screen performances yet plays a neo-Nazi who manage to change his life completely and start making a positive difference....

not easy to watch but as real as it gets
The yonger brother wants to follow his older neo-Nazi brother who's just out of prison - and not at all the same as he went in. Pretty disturbing movie about the neo-Nazi movment in the U.S. and how wrong decisions made in life affect the people...
