I love 70's film, but I hate this talking head/clip show documentary. It's virtually three hours of 70's filmmakers patting each other on the back saying, "nice job" or trying to sell the audience the idea that "Easy Rider" is in any way a good movie. The worst part is when all the directors pass the blame onto the studios for why today's films are bad instead of going out and being brash like they were 30 years ago. Excuse me, but when is the last time Francis Ford Coppola (Jack, Dracula) or William Friedkin (Rules of Engagement, The Hunted) has made a movie worth seeing. Directors like P.T. Anderson, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, The Coen Brothers and others have seemingly found ways to get their daring and different films made in today's system.
