Dark but still a good film
I really don't care what the other reviews say....this was a worthwhile film to watch. Yes, it's dark (so, no not for kids) but it was still a good story. I don't like all of Tim Burton's films but he has made some classics like Edward Scissorhands...

I really don't care what the other reviews say....this was a worthwhile film to watch. Yes, it's dark (so, no not for kids) but it was still a good story. I don't like all of Tim Burton's films but he has made some classics like Edward Scissorhands and Beetle Juice. If you like dark and quirky you'll like this.

The characters have no depth and the plot is extremely boring. Very interesting visually. That's about all I can say about Tim Burton movies. I can never seem to finish one because I am so emotionally detached from his films - this one included.

This movie is not for children; it's too dark. It's not for adults, as the dialog and characters are very childish. Finally, it blatantly copies characters and characteristics from Star Wars, Jarassic Park, Wall-E and many others. A real dud!

Very on the fence about this movie.
There was little story building. You are thrust right into everything and, as a result, no very little about the characters. Result is very one dimensional.
However, the action and animation is good. If I could...

I'm not huge into the whole steampunk craze but I do appreciate the aesthetics of it all. This movie was intriguing in its story of a post apocalyptic world where the last shred of humanity lies within the division of a scientists soul amongst 9...

Great animation and truly epic for such small prop pieces.

En el futuro la humanidad ha podido crear su propio apocalípsis, luego de crear la maquina para subyugar al enemigo la misma se revelo contra el, al haberle dotado de inteligencia la misma la uso para destruir a su único enemigo otrora creador.
La civilización ya no existe como mucho quedan los remanentes de una época de sufrimiento, sin embargo tampoco las maquinas reinan del todo, aparte de una que otra, no parece existir un centro de mando o un ser que tenga el poder ante las demás.
Sin embargo lo que si se encuentra es vida, un grupo de seres inanimados, muñecos de trapo, han sido creados con el fin de preservar la vida y consigo el futuro de una posible civilización. Los mismos despiertan conscientes de su ser y en búsqueda de algo que no entienden, con las mismas virtudes y defectos de su creador tendrán que buscar la forma de continuar el legado humano.
El desconocimiento los llevara a proveer las herramientas necesarias para que las maquinas “despierten” nueva vez, pero con la ayuda de 9 (Elijah Wood), el mas reciente despertado, buscaran la manera de como destruir las maquinas para siempre y dar crear vida humana nueva vez. Tendrá que convencer a los demás que esconderse no es la solución, sino abandonar el miedo y los “lugares seguros” siempre estarán a merced de sus propios temores.
Así al descubrir el propósito de las maquinas, de porque las mismas intentan destruirlos, de esa manera es que ellos podrán salvar el futuro.
Basado en un corto de titulo homónimo y ganador del Oscar en el año 2006.

Could have been so much better
First: the graphic art is fantastic. I would watch it for that reason alone. The story, however, had an odd flow to it. It was like an awkward dance with a gorgeous girl: could have been amazing, but the lack of rhythm leaves the moment...

The movie seems better suited for a series. It could have been so much more, and it makes it all the more painful.
But seriously, the graphics are amazing, so see it anyway.
