Tedious. You really have to like Adam Sandler to enjoy this film. Some of the humor is out of place and simply moronic. This film is a waste of everyone's time.

50 First Dates was not only heartwarming and uplifting, it was just hilarious! Drew Barrymore plays Lucy, a woman who was in a terrible car crash, and now, every night while she is sleeping, she forgets everything from the day before. This meaning everyday she wakes up thinking it is the day after the car crash. Adam Sandler plays Henry, a man who doesn't like commitment at all and plans on going for a long trip to Alaska very soon. He meets Lucy for the first time in a little Hawaiian cafe and totally falls in love with her, while she falls in love with him also...but thats not the happy ending. She falls asleep that night and of course forgets everything. Now Henry must make her fall back in love with him each and every day in order to be with the one he loves. The ending was very surprising...definitely recommend to people looking for a laid-back fun movie to watch with the family or a date! 5 stars!

Might not be easy to like at times but has a lot of charm
Adam Sandler is an Aquarium woker, a researcher with a dream of going north to study walruses. He is suppose to be a womanizer (this is brief and left alone later) who falls in love one day with seemingly random local girl Lucie (Barrymore). The catch is that she wakes up every day withouth the memories of yesterday. Sandler chracter is determined to see her everyday and make her better but it might be hard since she's been like that for years now.
The story is not groundbreaking but it is handled so well that it seems almost believeable and avoids possible plot holes. The problem of reminding the girl of her past is handled nicely with a video casette. What is a little harder to swallow is the Adam Sandler movie humor which is limited but still there (a vomiting walrus? woman who looks like a man? why?) Fortunatelly it hardly affects the main plot.
If you put aside the stereotype of Sandlers character it is easy to cheer for the characters who have a nice chemistry between them. The writing is so good that in the end it delivers these rare moments of comfort and joy that pass on the viewer.
Oh there is also Rob Shneider who has a harmless part and I didn't think he affected a movie that much. If he did than it was a positive bringing some humor that wasn't gross-out.
In coclusion I would put this movie definatelly above the average because it proves that a good romance can be humorous and light and still make great about it. It has a good pacing and a satisfying ending so I would definately recommend it.

Barrymore and Sandler had worked together before to surprisingly good results. They show an easy chemistry between them that serves the movie well. The idea of making Adam Sandler an aquarium doctor offers a lot of possibilities; his scenes with the walrus are hilarious.
The supporting cast plays well together. A surprise was Rob Schneider, not one of my favorite actors, but here, under the direction of Peter Segal, he delivers. Sean Astin, as the lisping brother on steroids is quite effective, as well as Blake Clark, as Lucy's father. Dan Aykroyd puts an appearance as the doctor who treats the young woman who has lost her long term memory.
Watch it without any preconceptions, as probably it will surprise you.
