I LIKED IT. Not as good as the original, not by a long shot, but it is still worth watching. Give it a try and judge for yourself. I rated it 3 STARS

Like "28 Days Later," this film provides a starkly un-romanticized world in which nothing about people turning into fast moving, carnivorous, un-dead creatures is either humorous or fun. There are lots of explody things, there's a fare amount of gun play and there's even look out Gordon Freeman some crowbar action. Over all, I thought "28 Weeks Later" offered a good amount of heart pounding, butt clinching fun.

However, I still give it 5 stars. The reason is that despite the simpler plot, believe it or not it is actually MORE terrifying than the first one! If this film doesnt strike visceral fear deep into your soul then you dont have one.
BTW: It is very important to see 28 Days Later first so dont cut corners.

Not quite as good as 'Days', but still a heck of a movie. The relationship between '28 Days Later' and '28 Weeks Later' is reminiscent of the relationship between 'Alien' and 'Aliens'. The later is a more action-movie version of the first.

2/10Bad
On the first day it was released into the world. On the second day it ran amuck in the streets of London. On the 28th day we saw the rekindling of mankind. But 28 Week Later London is ready for reconstruction and is protected by one of the most incompetent task forces of all time. It?s really a shame that this movie starts out so good and just goes the wrong direction. This piece could have worked on a much deeper scale, but just like the first one fails to end properly. I liked 28 Days Later except when they went to the military base. And sadly 28 Weeks Later basically opens up at a military base. You think that when dealing with something as terrible as the virus you would wait more than 28 weeks and that security would be of the utmost importance. The movie also tries to make you sympathetic towards a kid that might be a cure for the virus. But killing the people that have the virus seems to me to be a better solution. I really wanted to like this movie but it was an utter disappointment.

The turbo zombies are back. The sequel is far more ambitious, and yet it falls apart by the middle half. There were just too many scenes that don't hold up (from the zombie that decides to knock a character out cold rather than bite her, to the survivors who run from central London to the countryside and back in an afternoon), and others that were simply hard to follow. The film is dark, literally, and the camera is hand-held - so a good chunk of the final hour we have no idea what is going on, or even who the survivors are.
And yet it started off so well!!!

This sequel is a waste of time. Too predictable. Not original. Stick with 28 Days Later instead.

I don't think this was as good as the prequel, but I don't think it's trying to be. Much the same way Aliens was more action than suspense from Alien, this is similar. It does start off with a bang, but quickly moves into the phase where it's trying to give you a backstory and connect you to the characters. I don't think it succeeds in that part because it's too cutesy and after the intense opening, I don't want to sit for 40 minutes watching kids run around. The action does eventually pick up and while there are multiple flaws in the script and glaring places where you go "oh come on", but it's still a fun ride to the end. Carlyle's scene where he's infected with the virus and goes beserk is pretty cool.
