Hailed as the most frightening film since The Omen, acclaimed Director Danny Boyle's vision on zombie horror isn't just scary
it's absolutely terrifying. The reason why these zombies are so terrifying is that they can run you down, these are not slow moving plodding zombies you can avoid just by quick walking. If these zombies get down behind you, you had better have your track shoes on. The lead characters Jim and Selena played by Cilian Murphy and Naomi Harris turn in top notch solid performances, they make you care as to whether they survive. Jim and Selena meet up with two other characters Frank, and his daughter Hannah, played by Brendon Gleeson and Megan Burns. The four of them together take off out of London and search a safe place to live and get away from the blood thirsty zombies prowling the streets. If you are bitten or just one drop of blood from one of the infected gets into your system, you will then be infected with "RAGE". And these are robust, hard charging zombies, they break into apartments, crash in through windows and chase you down in the streets. These are some very scary zombies indeed. Jim and Selena and Hannah survive a horrendous experience when they contact some surviving soldiers hold up in a mansion. Poor Frank becomes infected and is killed along the way. The soldiers want to kill Jim and take the females, Selena and Hannah for their own pleasure. So now after having to get away from zombies they now have to get away from the lust filled drooling soldiers. But not to worry, our heroes wax-off the soldiers and carry on in their search for safety. Selena played by Naomi Harris is a lady with a machete. This is one lady that you don't want to mess with. Yes, she will hack you into little pieces. The zombies didn't stand a chance with Selena. After the movie was over, all I could say was "You Go Girl". I give this movie 5*****Stars.

So-So
I have to say, I went in with few expectations and came out about the same. This could have been an interesting exploration of group human psyche after the 'apocalypse', as well as how humans react and interact in this new world of sorts. Instead, the characters are generally unlikeable and inconsistent, a lot of the shots are distracting and seem odd, and it feels like the plot stumbles around blindly near the middle before seeming to remember where it was going. At some points, it was like the film was trying too hard to be realistic, and ended up feeling forced and unbelievable.
That said, there were a few parts that I really did enjoy. The action was nicely interspersed with more quiet moments. There were some great character reactions to certain situations, my favourite being the speed they acted with whenever one of their own became infected. The focus on the conflict between humans, instead of the infected, was interesting and I wish they had done more with it.
Overall, not a movie I'd recommend personally, but it does have a few redeeming moments. Zombie fans might as well give it a try, for something a little different.

I love Zombie movies and if there ever was a real life Zombie epademic this is as close as you get. Everybody knows Zombies are the last thing we have to worry about but this one makes it seem real. I love when the main character turns into a bad mother sucker and runs through the mansion owning bitches. Music goes really well with that part of the movie. Woth putting in the queue

This is a good movie, well executed. It is "The Stand" meets "Night of the Living Dead" meets "Omega Man". If you've seen those three (or read the book I guess for the first one) and this kind of movie is really your cup of tea, you won't be disappointed. But there's really no new idea here, so if you're renting it because of all of the hype, think twice.

10/10Must See
A killer virus (it turns those it infects into homicidal maniacs) is accidentally released from a British research facility. Carried by animals and humans, the virus is impossible to contain and spreads across the entire planet. Twenty-eight days later, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected.
I Loved this movie. It wasn't cheesy like most zobie movies. It also wasn't American and I liked that as well. I didn't care for the alternate endings and think they are not worth watching. If you are looking for a pointless, blood and gore zombie flick I wouldn't recommend this to you.

Once again a movie has been put into a genre that it doesn't belong in. At best I would call this a social thriller. The only thing "Horror"ible about this film is its ridiculously weak plot. Phantasm Meets Night of the Living Dead, without any of the jump out of your pants gristle that makes those two films worthy of the horror genre. Next!

It's true that sometimes minimalism can be more effective than overblown bravado, and it's definitely true for this movie. It's the scenes of complete silence which get to you the most; an entire metropolis empty. The grainy picture serves to add a documentary-style quality to the film, which makes the whole situation seem almost too real to bear. Definitely a wise choice to film this on digital video.
You will occasionally meet people who thought 28 Days Later wasn't 'scary' or 'gory' enough. These are the same people who will tell you that 2001 was 'boring', or that Memento was 'confusing'. Ignore them. Others didn't understand the purpose of the second half, or were confused by its change of pace, feeling that it distracted from the movie as a whole. However, I personally regard the second half as very important because, as another reviewer pointed out, it makes a very succinct point: What is scarier, the end of the world, or having the world repopulated by maniacs? That, I think, is where the real Horror of 28 Days Later lies.

There are plenty of terrifying moments, jump-out-of-your-seat surprises and disturbing images in 28 Days Later, starting with just the poster. But aside from all that, this film did something truly shocking: it made zombies fast. For many zombie film fans this was a complete upheaval of everything known about zombies. For many of them it was sacrilege, but for others, myself included, it was evolution. If it seemed there were no ways left for zombie films to do anything to make zombies frightening again, speeding them up seemed to be the answer. Watch this film and see for yourself. Its one of many innovations, surprises and original ideas of plot. But do yourself a favor and ignore the theatrical happy ending and opt for the alternates included on the DVD instead.
..oh, yeah..and aim for the head.
